  • Established SHINKO COMPUTER SYSTEMS CORPORATION (wholly owned by Kobe Steel, Ltd.) as the forerunner of KOBELCO SYSTEMS CORPORATION
1987
  • Consolidated with the Systems Departments in the Kobe Steel Head Office and the Engineering Division, followed by a change in trade name to KOBELCO SYSTEMS CORPORATION
  • Opened the Tokyo Office
  • Opened the Computer Center
1988
  • Obtained certification as a system integrator from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry
1991
  • Established an affiliated company, KOBELCO SOFT KOBE CORPORATION
    (Changed its trade name to KOBELCO SOFT KANSAI CORPORATION in 1999)

  • Consolidated with the Kobe Steel Shintetsu and Kakogawa Systems Departments
1993
  • Merged with KOBELCO TELECOM CORPORATION
1994
  • Consolidated with the Kobe Steel Information Electronics department as well as the Systems departments in the Aluminum & Copper and Welding Rod divisions, thus becoming responsible for the deployment of IT in all departments in Kobe Steel
  • Opened the Nagoya Sales Office
1995
  • Established an affiliated company, KOBELCO SOFT TOKYO CORPORATION
1999
  • Obtained ISO9001 certification

  • Obtained PrivacyMark certification (for protection of personal information)
2002
  • Received 51% equity participation from IBM Japan (for a broad alliance as part of the Kobe Steel/IBM Japan IT strategy)
  • Merged two affiliates, KOBELCO SOFT KANSAI and KOBELCO SOFT TOKYO, forming KOBELCO SOFT SERVICE CORPORATION
2003
  • Obtained ISMS certification (Information Security Management System)
2006
  • Established Corporate Vision (renamed as Corporate Philosophy in 2017)
  • Renamed the Tokyo Office as the Tokyo Head Office
  • Opened the Kobe Data Center
2007
  • Won the grand prize in the National Enterprise Quality Award (sponsored by the Tochigi Quality Award Council)

  • Obtained the Kurumin certification mark under the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children

  • Received a commendation as a “PrivacyMark System Contributor”
